Daniel Bailey Solo Exhibition On View Now Through January 31st in Beavercreek

Daniel Bailey is a 23-year-old artist from upstate New York. His paintings are inspired by his exploration of the American West, Northeast, and Northern Canada.

“I would consider myself a romantic realist. I seek to create paintings of an idealized world where there is a heightened sense of emotion and drama. In this body of work, I wanted to keep a realistic look and feel while also slightly pushing beyond realism. Exaggerating atmosphere and color and painting with expressive brushstrokes help me paint scenes that have a dreamy, optimistic, and nostalgic feel. I enjoy painting a wide variety of subjects, from mountains to swamps and everything in between. While I work, I keep in mind memories of exploring the forest as a child, when the world buzzed with magic and wonder. If I’m lucky, some of that magic will be captured in my paintings.”
