NASHVILLE, TN – Paderewski Fine Art & The Sportsman’s Gallery, Ltd. is pleased to announce the opening of Fins, Feathers, & Fur: New Works by Calvin Carter. The show will open June 12, 2024 with works on view at the Nashville gallery and online.
An avid outdoorsman himself, Calvin Carter has garnered much attention in the past few years for his paintings of the rich sporting life of Texans. From a portrait of his Llewellin Setter pup, to duck hunting and flats fishing scenes, Fins, Feathers, & Fur will showcase a variety of subject matter that offers a glimpse into Calvin’s life as a sportsman. For this show he also will be presenting a variety of media, highlighting his artistic sensibility. He says, “I want to inspire the viewer to have a connection to their own memories and experiences.” He also hopes to encourage viewers who may not be familiar with sporting art to explore and learn more about it.
Calvin is a family man, and many of his works portray the passing down of sporting traditions across generations. Calvin’s wife and six children enjoy spending time with him in his art studio watching him create new works, as well as joining him out in the field collecting reference material.
